Green World

A small seed becomes a big Tree, gives shed in summer and in winter all of the leaves of the trees fall down to indirectly provide us more sunlight and the atmosphere becomes warmer. Flower on trees give joyfulness to us and fruits satisfy our hunger. Trees always take away polluted air (Carbon Dioxide) from the environment and in return they give fresh, purified oxygen. Leaves filter the air we breathe by removing dust and other particulates. Tree provide home to the Birds, Animals and Human Beings also.

Some trees have medicinal values also, their every part starting from the roots to the top are full of medicinal values, Neem is a very famous tree and best example of this. Trees help in controlling temperature of the environment. One can notice that the places where there are trees are much cooler and hygienic for living. Trees are the unsung heroes of our environment. They can add value to our homes, help cool our homes and provide food not only for wildlife even for human-beings. Trees also bring the rain which not only changes the temperature of the environment but also gives us water for our day to day life. To conclude trees play an essential part on earth.

Veggies for Health

Vegetables are important protective food and highly beneficial for the maintenance of health and prevention of disease. Vegetables are valuable in maintaining alkaline reserve in the body which helps to meet emergency demands allowing normal body function necessary for the body to resist disease. Vitamins A, B and C are contained in vegetables in good amounts. To derive maximum benefits of their nutrients, vegetables should be consumed fresh as far as possible. Most vegetables are best consumed in their natural raw state in the form of salads. An important consideration in making salads is that the vegetables should be fresh, crisp and completely dry.

To prevent loss of nutrients in vegetables, it would be advisable to steam or boil vegetables in their own juices on a slow fire and the water or cooking liquid should not be drained off. If the vegetables are boiled hard and for long time in a large quantity of water, they would lose their nutritive and medicinal values. No vegetable should be peeled unless it is so old that the peeling is tough and unpalatable. In most root vegetables, the largest amount of minerals, directly under the skin and these are lost if vegetables are peeled. Soaking of vegetables should also be avoided if taste and nutritive value are to be preserved. Finally, vegetables should not be cooked in aluminum utensils because tiny particles of aluminum from foods cooked in such utensils enter the stomach and that the powerful properties of aluminum injure the sensitive lining of the stomach, leading to gastric irritation, digestive and intestinal ailments.

Water World

Water is one of nature's most important gifts to mankind. A person's survival depends on drinking water. Water, is the most essential element, next to air, to our survival. We as humans can only be without water for a few days. The human body consists of about 75% water, the human brain is made up of 95% water, and blood is 82% and lungs 90%. A mere 2% drop in our body's water supply can trigger signs of dehydration. Each cell in the body depends upon water in order to function. Numerous disorders are caused by insufficient and unhealthy water. Environment

Each cell in the body depends upon water in order to function. An average adult body contains 42 liters of water and with just a small loss of 2.7 liters he or she can suffer from dehydration. In order to maintain the various bodily functions, we need to drink up to 2-3 liters of water each day. We would die within three to seven days without water. Not only do you have to look at the quality of the water you drink, but whether you are drinking enough water? Drinking at least five glasses of water daily decreases the risk of breast cancer and bladder cancer. The value of water cannot be overestimated. It is essential for all life on earth.

Cricket Craze

Cricket is a game played with bat and ball and played by two teams of eleven players each. Teams are comprised of players with a mixture of abilities, someone who specialize at batting, some at bowling, occasionally and some who excel in both capabilities and one specialist player who acts as a wicket keeper. The game is referred by two umpires. Cricket was originated in England during the 14th century. During the 17th century cricket became a professional sport played in competition and 100 years later it became known around the world. Now cricket is a sport that has been played around the world for more than eight centuries.

The first ever test match was played in Melbourne between Australia and England which Australia won by 45 runs. The first ever test match played by India was at Lords against England in 1932, the Indian team captained by C.K Naidu. Mohammed Nissar bags first five-wicket haul for India. The first ever test match on Indian soil was in 1933 on December 15th in Bombay against MCC. Lala Amarnath earns the distinction of becoming India’s first centurion as he scored 118 against MCC. India’s first Test victory was against England at Chepauk in 1952. India’s fist Test Series win was in the 1952-53 series against Pakistan, Lala Amarnath at the age of 40 leads India to a 2-1 series win against Pakistan.
